What a foxy fish! Okay I know the Common Thresher Shark isn’t usually called a fish. You more often than not just say thresher (or sea fox). But sharks are neither mammals nor reptiles: they are fish! Whether you seek them out in continental or open water, remember to bring a net! And only the most seasoned angler would be able to bag a thresher without some large fishy bait. The common thresher is the largest thresher shark species: an average of 16 feet in length and weighing in at over 500 pounds! That is one fish worthy of this one piece!
This is a huge species of Thresher but, it has a mild temperament and is fairly timid. It has an incredible fight that is prized by recreational anglers and here at Gill McFinn's™ we highly suggest catch and release. This beautiful shark is unfortunately threatened and vulnerable to endangerment due to its low rate of reproduction and over commercial fishing.
